Tasting Note – July, 2026
2023 SHIRAZ
Colour: Ruby purple with a brick-red hue.
Nose: Cherry fruit with complex briar bush and a cedar oak aromatic. Savoury notes and a hint of bay leaf and black pepper and spice.
Palate: Medium bodied with fresh, crisp, acidity with nice length of fruit. Persistent finish with long dark fruits and forest floor with a touch of spice and light oak.
Potential: This vintage has produced fleshy wines that are ideal to drink now. Short term cellaring will add complexity.
Foods: Slow cooked lamb shoulder.
Technical: Alcohol: 14.4% , pH 3.44, TA 5.48
Vintage: The 2023 vintage was initially wet but with a long dry ripening period allowing long hang time.
